Looking to Ancient Science for Modern Problems | Hemp News
Ananta Hemp Works is a Delhi-based start-up that is setting up its foundation with a unique range of products in multiple categories. Ayurveda, popularly practiced in the Indian subcontinent and all around the world, is rich in primitive solutions for treating modern medical problems. Ayurvedic medicines are typically derived from herbal compounds, minerals, naturally occuring substances and the hemp plant is somewhat of a hero in Ayurvedic literature. Hemp Nutrition comes from Hemp Hearts, Hemp Powder and Hemp Seed Oil which are packed with antioxidants, rich in protein, minerals, vitamins also contain essential fatty acids like Omega 6 & Omega 3 in its Golden ratio.
Healing in nature, abundant with nutrients and minerals, this self-sustaining plant gives back to the environment in the form of its water retention capacity and fertility rendering property for the land. Utilizing the overall benefits of the plant, Ananta Hemp Works found its way to the Indian lifestyle products market.
Ananta Hemp Works is a Delhi-based start-up that is setting up its foundation with a unique range of products in multiple categories. The company started operations in 2020 with the aim to redefine the perspective around Cannabis plants using the Cannabis Leaf Extract (as permitted under Ayurveda) and direct it towards its medicinal prowess. Abhinav Bhaskar and Vikram Bir Singh, founders, came together to nurture this idea when Abhinav himself witnessed the restoration aspect of Hemp plant-based medicine, in order to manage the pain that he endured owing to an autoimmune disease.
Vijaya, modernly known as Cannabis, yields more than a hundred compounds, especially CBD, CBG, CBN to name a few, that help in mollifying pains for patients undergoing genetic diseases, physical injury pains, stress, anxiety, and a host of other illnesses. It targets the pain by, basically, manipulating the pain perception and bringing our hormones to a sustainable balance. The ability to manage his pain so efficiently, Abhinav’s personal experience has been the motivation behind the birth of AHW to make available the benefits of the Hemp plant to more and more people. Hemp is a revolutionary plant that not just helps in managing pain but is also substantive in treating skin conditions, sleep disorders, and other modern lifestyle imbalances.
The Innovative Product Line
With advancing technology, the possibility to innovate is expanding, especially when it comes to the versatile Hemp plant. This future-focused brand has put in tireless efforts to establish a retail brand identity with hemp seed oil as the main component in almost all their products. From wellness, nutrition, and personal care products, their range is eclectic and natural. Their personal care range is made with natural and herbal composition, minus paraben and chemicals. Hemp Seed Oil products are known to regenerate the skin and manage acne-causing triggers. AHW has been striving to build a product line that is not just consumer conscious but also environmentally responsible. Their products are not tested on animals, are locally prepared, and are free of chemicals.
Hemp, being a natural source of nutrients, is indeed the real superfood. The seeds can be consumed as it is, the seed’s pressed oil is a healthy option to add in a regular diet or can even be applied on skin or hair. AHW drew on this aspect of the plant to curate a range of Nutritional products that can be easily adopted in regular lives. Their principle behind this range is to target the growing vegan tribe and promote a healthier and stronger lifestyle among people by raising awareness of its advantages.
Vijaya (Cannabis) leaf contains Cannabinoids, which work with the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) that exists within our bodies and is responsible for maintaining balance. Thus, making Vijaya a natural medical solution, as prescribed in Ayurveda. The Canna Ease sub-range of Wellness products by Ananta introduces the much-needed cannabinoids which interact with the CB1 & CB2 receptors in the human body that help calm inflammation, relieve stress, boost brain function, among other things. Dr. Preeti Bhosle, an Ayurvedic practitioner, states, “I have prescribed products by the brand Canna Ease in cases of inflammatory skin conditions, migraine, generalized headache, diabetic neuropathy, arthritis, degenerative joint conditions, etc. The efficacy and acceptability, both have been satisfactory among patients.
The Indian Achievers’ Award for a Promising Start-Up winner AHW has also collaborated with Dr. Preeti Bhosle and initiated an Ayurvedic clinic in New Delhi known as “Ananta Vijaya Wellness Clinic”. The clinic’s mission is to educate people and to do away with the many taboos about cannabis-based medicine. Vijaya (also known as cannabis) is used in various treatment protocols along with the classical Ayurvedic line of treatment.
Having been a patient of an auto-immune disease, I can personally vouch for the benefits of Medical Cannabis and that’s really been the driving force for us. I would like more and more people to benefit from these products, the same way I did”, explains Abhinav Bhaskar, CEO of Ananta Hemp Works.
The Future Forethought
While the Hemp-based products are prescribed to people, their lesser-known variant has recently been introduced by AHW in the form of Pet Well. The hemp seed oils for dogs and cats have a calming effect and maintain their overall health, in the same way it works on humans. We know how difficult it is for our pets to emote the pains they suffer as an aftermath of an injury, age, or disease. CBD oils are proven and continue to be studied, for effectiveness in helping to reduce anxiety, inflammation, and even shedding.
While the entrepreneurial duo has many products in the pipeline for projected releases, they aspire to collaborate with Government recognized medical research institutes on research and development projects that explore the many medical uses of hemp. Vikram Bir Singh, CMO Ananta Hemp Works, puts the company’s plans in perspective, “Committed to the principles of Ayurveda, our philosophy is to bring back the benefits of these ancient, plant-based, remedies into the mainstream, with a vision to cater to the everyday lifestyle issues.”
